Boise lawn and landscape care
A yard that looks fresh-cut in every month of the year
Mowing, trimming, planting, and cleanups for Boise homes, handled by one local crew on a schedule you can count on.
Weekly care, one-time projects, and everything in between.
The GreenCrest Year
A yard is not one job. It is twelve months of small ones.
Here is what we are doing in your yard, season by season, and roughly when.
Spring
March to MayWaking the yard up. The work here decides how the lawn looks all summer.
- Spring cleanup. Winter debris out, beds cut back, edges reset.
- Bed prep and mulch. Fresh mulch down before the weeds get their start.
- Planting. Perennials and shrubs picked for high-desert summers.
- Sod and seeding. Thin spots filled while the ground is still cool and wet.
- First mows. Cut high early so roots go deep before the heat.
Summer
June to AugustHolding the line. Boise heat is hard on turf, so the rhythm matters more than the effort.
- Weekly or biweekly mowing. The same weekday every visit, blades kept sharp.
- Edging and detail. Walks, drives, and bed lines cut clean every time.
- Hedge and shrub trimming. Shaped at the right point in their growth, not on a whim.
- Water-wise adjustments. Mow height raised in July so the lawn shades its own roots.
- Tidy exits. Clippings bagged, walkways blown off, gates latched behind us.
Fall
September to NovemberThe season most yards get skipped, and the reason they struggle the next spring.
- Leaf cleanups. Repeat passes as they drop, not one pile in November.
- Aeration and overseeding. The single best thing you can do for a tired lawn.
- Beds cut back. Perennials trimmed, annuals pulled, mulch topped for winter.
- Final mow. Cut lower on the last visit so snow does not mat the grass.
Winter
December to FebruaryThe quiet months are when the structural work gets done and next season gets planned.
- Dormant pruning. Shrubs and ornamentals shaped while you can see the branching.
- Walkways and edging. Stone paths, steppers, and bed borders built in the off months.
- Storm debris. Wind and snow damage cleared off the lawn and drive.
- Next season planned. We walk the yard with you and price the spring work early.
